OK, I will post because I am officially loving this lens. Quite honestly, I'm wishing I had parked the Loxia 50mm on my camera for more of my Grand Canyon trip instead of trying a variety of lenses. It was far sharper than my Canon 24-70mm f/2.8II with the Metabones adapter, well into the corners at f/5.6. So easy to autofocus, and the IBIS let me get crisp images even when I was too lazy to set up the tripod while it was snowing.
Been using the 35/2 on my A7ii for a bit now, I've really been enjoying it. Such a pleasure to use, so well built, and balances so well on the body. It's almost always on my camera!
I'm looking to possibly buy the 21mm f2.8, are you happy with your 35mm f/2?
If you're referring to my trio of pics, thanks! I wanted to show one wide open, then another stopped down to f8, then a bit longer exposure stopped down.
I do really enjoy the 35/2 Loxia. With other natives options at 35 and other obvious adapted options, I feel the 50 and upcoming 21 will tend to be a little more popular. However, I love the feel, IQ, "character", and don't shoot professionally - so I picked it up. I made a point to get it used, and it's admittedly pretty pricey for what it is.
This thread is a super idea - I am going to buy an A7RII and loxia 35mm - There is something really very nice about the feel of a good m/f lens - So easy to focus and to zone focus. Please keep the images coming. Thanks. Adam
I've been super pleased with the Loxia 35 as a portable alternative to my 35/1.4. It works especially well as a landscape lens, it's very sharp once stopped down. It's making me think about selling my 55/1.8 in favor of the Loxia 50.
Here's a picture that I took with the 35 last week.
Very nice. I bought Fred's 35 a couple weeks ago for the same reason, i.e. a light and compact alternate to the ZE 35/1.4. I've not had a chance to do much with it so far, but my initial reaction is favorable.
