A few when testing out the D500 recently. The D500 + 200-500 combo is a mtach made in heaven, I think they were made for each other, the combo works brilliantly. Fast AF and great overall IQ.

Thang... I have been so impressed by your ability to track falcons with the 200-500VR and the D500. Looking at these pics makes me wonder what we now lose when we move away from big and heavy single focal length lenses. Sure the 200-500VR is not as sharp as a 400 f2.8/500 f4/200-400 f4.... but these pics are making me think that they are sharp enough.

Agreed, slight loss of IQ and af speed when used with tc. That's all I could think of. But the huge gains of zooming capability and smaller size/weight completely negated the other two for my kind of shooting. The D500 has really made the lens shine. It is an incredible camera. Its af speed, acquisition, and stable af-c just blown me away. By far the best DSLR I have ever used for bif photography.
