To the people that own or have owned this lens and the Sigma 150-600 Sport , which would you buy again if one was the only one you would have . Why ? I intend to purchase one of these two as a bird & wildlife lens .

The Sport: AF speed...range...build...weather sealing...push/pull zooming. Huge advantages.
Love my 200-500 on FX so it stays (my 2nd) Great throw in truck lens w/D800, always ready.
Prefer the 150-600 on my D7200 (soon to be D500) where its 900mm FOV reels in wildlife bigtime!

Thank's !! You were one of the people I was hoping would respond . I'm leaning heavily toward the Sport , I do think that the color is a little better on the Nikon . Is that my imagination ? They look equal in sharpness to me . The Sport would be used on my D7100 for a couple of years as I learn , this is a new hobby for me .

First post here - my new to me 200-500 arrived yesterday so of course I immediately set out to try it and a few minutes later found this Cooper's hawk a couple of hundred yards down the street.
Pretty heavy crop (sadly sitting on a telephone line not a nice branch). Looking forward to learning how to get the best out of this lens.

Lance, beautifully clean shot at ISO 2800. I don't know what you are doing for NR or in PP, but this sure looks as good as it gets at 2800 on a D810 (which I shoot as well)! Thanks- Bill

Thank you very much for your kind comments, Bill.
PP is quite straight forward. I use Capture One Pro 9.1, which I think is just the best RAW converter for detail, overall IQ and overall ease of use. I save at 16bit TIFF and then do some tweaks in Photoshop CC. In Photoshop CC, I use Imagenomic's "Noiseware" noise reduction plug in where necessary and then do a bit of levels adjustment and possibly a few other things. Noiseware is brilliant, IMO. I then resize for web, then sharpen using "Power Retouche" sharpening.
