One from this morning....I really love this lens. Partly for the quality images it produces, but also partly for its light weight and handling which enables me to take it places I couldn't take an slr before (not this image however which was shot in our yard from my deck)...
Some more from further 1.7xTC testing and a few with the 1.4x TC from my kayak where I want the use of Auto AF mode that gets turned off with the 1.7x on.
For some reason it took awhile for this remarkable lens to be fully embraced by the photographic community. It has been my favorite from day one. The captures displayed on this thread are "as good as it gets",and compare favorably with any other. That's with the 1.4 TC, and to a lesser degree with the 1.7. Not so with the 2.0 but no lens other than a 2.8 does. Now , if Nikon can replicate it in a 400mm, that's all most really need. But Nikon probably won,t as it could well cannobolize certain zooms.

Why do you think Nikon would care about one lens 'cannibalizing' their other lenses? They are interested in selling as many of ALL their lenses as they can. Do you think Ford or Toyota would not bring out some different model that might cannibalize their existing models?
