Do you think we need to reach out to the Canon forum and see if we can get someone with a 5km3 to try it? I don't care if the 610 or 810 does it as well...if the 5dm3 or 6d doesn't then THATS what makes it undeniable....and not a byproduct of current design limitations and unacceptable....

It's all still speculation, but I think this is the answer. The flare is reflection off the AF module, and the border around the sensor is a little too close, blocking the flare with a sharp edge.
Why does it show up when certain lenses are attached?
