Steve - Mine either takes longer to acquire focus or retain focus while tracking in brilliant light. I am thinking of using a CPL or something to see if it is indeed the case with my copy before sending it in. I don't have another Nikon body to confirm if it is the lens or the body either.

I've heard some sample variations on this lens, what was your experience?
Should I stick with reputable re-sellers like B&H or Adorama for month long return period in case I need to return?
BTW, your BE looks great with side light, great shot!
These are incredible Kristofer! Thanks for sharing them. Now I just need to raise the money to get this piece of glass! Wouldn't hurt if my camera store got a couple in as well.....
Hi Kristopher, great images of Hawk you had posted. You and Sritri's images are the inspiration for me for getting this lens. I have to get my (soon to arrive) Tammy to tune to my D810, got tough job ahead.
Thanks FM and Steve! Here are a few more from a Raptor Center i try to raise awareness for.. They are mostly wide open so not much for dof at these distances..
Absolutely Incredible. What body are you using these on? Your technical skill is a great benefit to your raptor center! Thanks for sharing these. I think you have just about sold me on this lens over waiting for the Sigma!
Thanks sritri and FM! I have shot it with both the D800 and the D7100. The D7100 captures a little more detail, but the D800 has a better overall IQ so I mostly shoot it on the D800 now. I've put together a set with my 60 favorites of 2014, mostly with the Tamron. All the exif is there https://www.flickr.com/photos/coastalconn/sets/72157645413231013/
Kristofer, your work with this lens is breathtaking. Tamron should be giving you gear because your work is about as good an advertisement for what this lens can do as ANYTHING i've seen. I don't want to buy this lens, but after opening this thread and coming upon your work I have to keep coming back to see if you've posted more images. Keep em coming... they brighten my day.
