Took my Tammy to the local zoo today to really get a feel for the lens. This was my first major outing as my previous shots were all indoors or in the backyard after buying the lens. My overall experience was very favorable. This lens really shined with subjects that were close to mid distance (~100'+). I can't comment on subjects shot at infinity as my subjects were pretty much confined. Looking forward to all the future air shows I'll be taking this lens to.
All shots were hand held with none to very minimal noise reduction.

Tamron seems to have come up with a secret recipe with this new lens. From what I have seen from web images it is practically as good as the Nikon primes, how can this be? I can hardly find this lens used yet, maybe in a couple years
Here are a few with the 150-600 from the Barber Indy/PWC last week. I was very impressed with the focus speed & tracking plus its not bad at 600mm. I rented it for the week & shot some lacrosse & the races - I was impressed enough that it will probably be my next purchase. It focused quickly enough to follow the action with the lacrosse even in poor lighting conditions.
Not going to be trading mine in any time soon Steve. I hauled it up a cliff a few weeks ago in Iceland to shoot some Puffins. It gave me great results!
Puffins wondering what kind of creature I am to be climbing around on their cliff. Surely this guy can't fly...
