I think this ad is encouraging. Many of us are aggravated that Canon has done little to improve their sensors or image quality over the past 5 years or so. Now it appears that the Canon marketing group is trying to pretend otherwise and to do some damage control. Now let us hope Canon actually makes some improvements. In the meantime, I am doing my part. When asked I recommend Nikon or other vendors.
Why would Canon see impossible? All this peanut gallery member was asking for was a 5D3 with a Sony sensor shoved into it. Hey Canon, I agree, I'm not seeing impossible here like you claim to be.
Total crap advertising campaign. Denigrating me for pointing out the obvious.
It's going to be a 5D MK III with ostrich-skin covering instead of the burly plastic vinyl.
They're going to go upscale like Hasselblah. But it won't be called the 5D MKIII, it'll be called the "Canon Impossible, Mark One." Get ready folks, the rhinestones on the direct print button on this bling baby are going to knock your socks off. And you thought Canon didn't have any more juice. Silly you!

This will be about low light performance. That's what the slogan means to me. However canon can release the 5d3 again this time with d810 senator and it will sell like hot cake
Please don't interject politics into this...wink, wink, wink,

Peanut gallery generally refers to those (creators, actors, etc.) who already have an audience.
Mmmm. No.
Peanut gallery — the top gallery in a theater, where the cheaper seats are located.
a group of people who criticize someone, often by focusing on insignificant details...
Though your tie in to the nature of photography forums does fit the second line. ;-)
I'm almost hoping it'll be a white 7d MK II, just so I can throw back my head in a sardonic laugh when that counter reaches zero.
But it'll probably be something Canon corporate considers important like changing the font of the logo to New Courier.

umm, thought that referred to the bleachers at baseball parks, where peanuts are sold.

Here's a novel idea. Don't equal the best, beat them. That would seem impossible to most Canon users.
Just from the advertising it seems to be targeting the forum trolls running around spouting off about how canon is so far behind that it is impossible for them to produce a competitive sensor. So I really think we may be seeing canon leapfrog current gen Sony sensors.
Then all they have to do is design a sleek usable mirror less body that is actually ergonomic. That's something we know canon is good at.
