p.2 #1 · At Canon, We See Impossible

Hopefully something that I would like. Nothing else of much interest to me- other than another trip to Turkey, Jordan & Iran.

"We see the impossible" sounds more like a new low-light camera/sensor. It's fun to guess, which is the whole point of these teasers anyway

They (Canon) use poetry in the NYT, what would they use in the NY Post? lol

Prepare to be disappointed. For the rest of the world that likes AF and cameras that serve many different goals, could be a great announcement if it's a new FF body.

No disappointment for me - I was disappointed by the 5D MkIII sensor specs in 2012, this was it for me. If Canon announces a new FF camera, I am just curious about its new sensor specs, rest is of no importance to me (since I don't need another body now especially not a DSLR body).

Sorry, I'm not following the "I want this feature and I want that feature' response crowd.

But the phrase 'We see Impossible' can be interpreted the wrong way!

Could be connected to this I would imagine:

https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1318815

(Canon will release a 46mp pro body at the Javits Center in October).

As long as I can still "dream"...and with no small chuckle...it'd be pretty wild to see Canon release a 46mp "pro body" that had a Foveon type sensor in it...with DR numbers 'off the charts'...

Seems to me that Canon needs a sensor and Sigma needs a camera (that will sell to more than a handful of "enthusiasts"...)

My hope would be for a new FF body with a sensor that can "see" colors even in the dark. Something like this, but in a FF body would be seeing the impossible!

Based on the logo, looks to just be a new slogan. Similar to their imageANYWHERE.

I'm guessing for most of us it will be a new body that is unaffordable.

OK, for the record, I thought it was impossible for Canon to use Sony sensors in their FF DSLRs.

Finally and EOS body that will mate with Nikon lenses. Now the best lenses in the world will be available to Canon shooters.....at long last!

Afraid not. I can name many canon lenses that nikon has no equivalent. Like 70-200 IS 2.8 II, 85 1.2, 100L, 135L. IS primes like the 35/2 IS.

It's OK. It is good for Canon shooters to be satisfied with what they have. There is something to be said about being humble and not wanting anything better than what you already have....although I'm not exactly sure what that "something" is.
