Canon USA has posted a double page ad on the New York Times pointing to a teaser page.
The ad theme is: "AT CANON, WE SEE IMPOSSIBLE"
The teaser page shows a clock counting down.
Be cautious with your expectations as the last teaser revealed a disappointing "White Kiss SLR". Could it be different this time?

Prepare to be disappointed. For the rest of the world that likes AF and cameras that serve many different goals, could be a great announcement if it's a new FF body.
I would love to see them break out with a high ISO sensor using different technology that overcomes the physics of the current ones. Would love to see them flatten the DR and noise graph. 11-12 stops of DR across the board would suit me far more then simply low ISO DR.
1DX2 - legit 14 FPS, 27MP sensor, 1/500 flash sync speed, bright red AF illumination points, broader coverage of AF points across the frame
A 15 stop DR would be better just like neg film used to. And the 1Dx will do 14fps JPEG with a full charge and the lens set wide open - but as you stop down fps drops - by how much depends on the lens. Or you can switch to MF and alt glass to maintain full burst speed. I'd like to see 25 or 30fps wide open and a way to set the aperture fixed at 5.6, 8 or whatever and still maintain full burst using native L glass.
