Dogs have been at least as precious in my long life as any two-legged creatures!

This 'thread' has been a joy to see the visual proof that so many others share my sentiment with their cameras.

Thanks, all........

Greetings, Luke ---

You, Bruce and Ashley have to be in decent shape to do a 12-mile on a mountain path.

In this context, I particularly salute 'Bruce' for his precious fortitude.

Thank you and Ashley for posting this!

Thank you, DonM2. It all comes with repetition.

With mountains like this less than 2 hours drive from home it would be a big mistake not to take advantage of the 2 week spell of sunny weather.

The rains will eventually come (sometimes it just rains nonstop for a month) - and it will be way less pleasant and definitely less picturesque when that happens.

cheers,

Luke

It's hard to believe our "baby" is almost out of her Puppyhood at two and a half years old! Snickers said it was time to apprise you of her maturity, as she enjoys a warm October day.

Should I or should I not share this..
Yesterday evening I went out with Billie and Buddy for their 'before they go to sleep' walk.
Buddy walked about 20 meters in front of me and Billie as usual by my side, when Buddy suddenly was attackef by a boar.
Before I could react Billie who is very protective for his little son responded and attacked the boar.
It took him a second to chase the boar away, but he was injured badly and I had to carry him home about 2 miles without my shirt which I took off to stop the bleeding.
My daughter and son in law were home and after a phonecall with the vet on duty we made a run to get there.
Billie got surgery because of a punctured artery in his groin.
The vet said he was very lucky to survive this wound. (The only wound he has)
Buddy our little macho was trembling like a leaf but he wasn't injured, just some scuffmarks.
Well lesson learned (which I allready knew being game manager in this reserve)
Keep your dog on a leash from dusk till dawn, it won't preserve you completely from boar attack but it does certainly help.
Better yet to avoid the woods at this time if you can, I can't living in the woods.
Thank god Billie will be fine.

Glad your dog will recuperate. Hopefully won't have any lasting behaviours after that. Glad the boar didn't go after you, too!
