Funny... I pulled out my D700 a couple of days ago to take a few gear photos. It took me a few minutes to remember how to use it. I've been shooting with the Df for about four years and my much loved D700 has been in a camera bag waiting patiently for an opportunity. I had to search out the battery charger before I could begin. This is the shot I took...
I had to search for a cable to mount the CF card to my computer but eventually got where I wanted to go. After a few years shooting with the Df, the weight of the D700 was noticeable. I always walked around with the D700 and didn't think too much about the weight. I love the D700 and doubt I'll ever sell it... but I'm happy to be using a lighter camera... something a great many Fuji and Sony folks have been saying for some time. Nikon's mirrorless cameras completely lose their appeal because they don't play well with Nikon manual focus lenses and those are the only lenses I shoot with. So it will be the Df day in and day out, with the D700 for "special" occasions.

Great setup! I have the D700 along with the DF as well. I love the DF but my pinky just dangles around the grip. Probably need to pickup the grip thing nikon is selling. How are you liking the DF?
Perhaps a topic for another thread since this subject has been discussed at length. I'll just say the D4 sensor in the Df is awesome, especially so since I'm not hungry for megapixels. Enjoy!
After way too much time on the shelf, my D700 is now converted to 830NM IR If it ever stops snowing I need to set WB. It has the standard fogged back display and rubber pulling away. B&H rejected it and KEH offered me enough to cover lunch
My D700 has the standard peeling rubber and fogged rear screen. I tried selling it but the only offers were totally laughable. I had LfePixel convert it to 830MN Deep IR.Now it has a new lease on life. It seems I get more cloud detail in IR than visual.

Rubber is pretty easy to replace and its cheap on ebay.
