Will, I love your owl images! I am a bit envious, as there are owls here, in the neighborhood, but they only seem to appear just before full darkness, when it is maddeningly difficult to capture an image. Great Horned Owls do look impressive when flying, but night-time BIF remains a bit beyond my capability!

Thanks a lot! These B.O. are so fast, in flights...the keeper rate is pathetic (in good light)
Couldn't imagine goin' after GHO's either
I imagine the D700 will remain in my kit but I'm having fun with this recent addition as well, here shown with a forty year old converted pre-AI lens, the 200 f/4 Q.C. AI. I shot this in response to a friend's request with the D700 and another converted pre-AI lens, the 55 f/1.2 S.C. AI.
The D700 has NEVER disappointed me. It is a great camera.
Seems the D3 snuggled up to the 80-400G during the night,
so I had no choice but to let 'em play. Found some egrets, all
shot from the truck...sometimes moving
