Just got a d700 arrives tomorrow. Ordered some extra batteries. What are your opinions on the battery grip? And has anyone mounted this on a vixen polarie or sky tracker?

Get the grip, they are not that expensive. You will need the D3 battery for the faster fps, though.
Thanks for the replies, so to be clear, the AA holder also allows faster FPS? not that I will really use it. So I got a deal on a grip here on the forums, and got my d700, a couple of batteries and a 60/2.8D. I was deciding between the 50/1.4 or the macro lens the bigger F stop VS the macro ability, and I went with the macro. Here are some pictures.
My D700 got a good workout over the weekend at a UK Warbirds air show - fast panning 2,200 shots in 3 hours with a Sigma 150-600mm S gave the arms and shoulders a workout! AF didn't miss a beat
Recently picked up a high-mileage cheap D700. I've missed this camera sooooooooo bad! It has such an amazing sensor and the old Expeed does a wonderful job with it. The in camera JPGs are just awesome.
I haven't had a chance to do much with it in the past few days (had it since Saturday, lenses are still coming in haha), but will be posting here soon!
They aren't anything special, just snaps around town in the first few days of having a D700 back in my hands... but oh man, I love the colors and the files out of this camera. Takes me back to 2009!
