Love the noveske pig but that break in the first picture is crazy looking!!! Is that an AR10?
haha, nope! just an ar-15, 20" 1/8 twist wylde barrel with a JP recoil eliminator brake. i know, i know... 223 has no recoil to begin with. but followup shots with that brake are unreal, theres zero muzzle rise. the noveske pig and JP brake are almost exact opposites of each other (quietest & most muzzle rise vs. loudest & no muzzle rise). love them both!!
This camera was announce July 2008, based on the D3, which was announced August 2007. It's 2015 and the D700 still focuses as well as my D810 in the dark, if not better.
Over in the wedding forum people are switching to the dark side left and right. They all marvel at the 750's low light AF. I just think to myself, hey it's been this good since 2008 haha!

yup, exactly when i went to the dark side. d300 started it for me, upgraded to the d700 a year later, and havent looked back since. the newer bodies AF must be really good, since my d700 has yet to disappoint me...
Honestly, this is a bit like shooting fish in a barrel. The D700 simply performs... every time I shoot with it I'm reminded what a fine camera it is... this from yesterday... a drive to Bodega Bay. Shot with a forty year old lens, the 24 f/2.8 N.C. AI.
For anyone not committed to printing billboards, this is an excellent FX camera with which to begin. It is a great camera.

Nice to see this is still alive. Well, I finally traded my D700 for a D600 (w/da fix) and some
dead presidents. Kept my D3 (same sensor) cuz it was faster/lighter/smaller than my gripped 700.
I still remain a 12mp FX fan, however...and I thanks y'all for playin'
I posted this back on p.17 Go for it I'll just add 'D3' to the title
Looking for a 300mm f2,8 Ai-S to get some more reach out of this camera, but so far I do not consider that I need anything else/newer/bigger/faster then this. Maybe a D3s sometime, but so far this camera has made me a happy shooter, and that's a first ever since I stopped using film and my FM2!
