Very nice I am really thinking of buying one of these but I have a D300 I am afraid it's really not much of a difference (upgrade)
Thanks! Seriously It's a HUGE 'upgrade' Keep your grip and you can shoot ISO6400
and smile about it all the way to the bank. FX fat pixel files are gorgeous. Clean blue skies too.
I just decided to hang onto my d700 for a while longer. I realized that the d800 was too much for my workflow and shaky hands, the d600 was my strongest consideration but the 39 point focus system and lack of d700 layout and build were just enough to stay with the d700. Of course the dx series is just too expensive for me as is the df. I have overcome NAS for the moment!!! Yeh
good to know it wasn't just me that noticed the noisy skies with the d300. otherwise, fantastic camera. that said, the d700 is WAAAAY better...

alright trench, you already got us sold on the d700 with your ridiculous images. but you HAD to throw in a 200f2 shot in there, didn't ya? that ain't right!!

Tonight I went with frame rate over IQ (so the D800 stayed home)
Might be my favorite shot of the evening...
Just bough a D810 and have shot two weddings with it thus far. My "backup" boy is my old D700 - I found myself shooting with 700 twice as much... Its so familiar - what a great camera.
