The AF is *STUNNING*. Use of that word got negative reactions in another forum, but how else do you describe it? It's obvious to anyone with some skill and experience shooting this new camera...
My buddy just got three of them today, he is upgrading from three D3s bodies.
He actually needs them for his work and like me, he makes a living with his gear.
I upgraded from D3 bodies to D4 bodies last yearend it's the best thing I could have done. The D4 Image Quality is superb.
I would like to test the D4s, but not interested in upgrading at this time. I don't see a need at this time. I'm no longer shooting Low Light events and I'm trying to stay away from Sporting Events too!!
One feature I still don't like about the D4/D4s is the XQD card, I'm one of those that actually like the dual CF Card setup.

In my limited experience shooting the D4S... even with static subjects... I think the D4S is better wide open with my 58G than the D4 was. Time will tell....
Can you put into words how the AF is so much better than the D4 in a descriptive sense. What is So much better? It would be really helpful for me at least. I have no way of testing the new cam as I do not know anyone who has them here. Thanks.

I'd also like to know what about it is better. Is it faster? How does it behave differently? And for that matter, is D4 AF faster than D800 AF (which therefore means D4s AF is faster than D800 AF)?
Today I've had a chance to look at imaging-resource's samples that had some D4s RAW photos, and I used adobe DNG converter to make them viewable on lightroom 4. Then I looked at D4 and D800 versions of the same test scene, all RAW with 0 noise reduction, and I pushed them like I might push a D800 image taken with shadows and sunny areas in the same image (e.g. like a wedding image)...and I really can't tell a meaningful difference between any of the shadows.
I was expecting - based on general reviews - that the D4 images would not handle it as well as the D800 images and would show some unpleasant artifacts/lack of detail in the shadows in comparison, since most tests have said the D4 has less total dynamic range and the shadows have looked noisier in those tests.
Why would I bother with this?...because the low ISO dynamic range was one of the key selling points of the D800 for me. If a camera exists that keeps up with/bests the 1dx on the high ISO end and also has the best dynamic range on the low ISO end, then such a sensor would be an extremely desirable tool for me and would factor in to my next camera purchase consideration.
