I posted this on two other Tamron posts but wanted to share it in case you missed it. Sorry for several posts. I shot these using 1Dx on AI Servo. More shots can be found on the link below:

@ JVthePT, those all look great!
Thanks, I'm starting to get more comfortable with it. Still can't get a reasonable shot of a junco, for some reason they turn mushy and oof looking. I'll keep trying. Thinking it's a keeper now that I've been able to shoot in good sunlight.
I think it's solar powered! Lol!
With inconsistent focusing at 600 on stationary subjects at least when its sharp its sharp. However rarely does the focus equal this for some reason?
I expect most all to come out like this but it has been not the case.

I sent mine into Tamron yesterday for the exact same reason that Karl stated...it just doesn't nail the focus. It also gives me an error 99 when mounted to my 1D Classic camera. I don't have much hope that they'll be able to fix that, but I hope that maybe they can calibrate it and fix that lazy focus!
that's most disconcerting. it's starting to look like the same tamron 70-300 af issue i had
when it nails focus, it's very sharp, but most of the times, it doesn't.
Wow. I'm impressed with the sharpness at 600. Much better than I expected. For $1000, a real bargain. Maybe I'll sell the 100-400 that's been gathering dust.

Question - is it inconsistent on all bodies or just some?
Mine should arrive Tuesday and you can bet that I'll be testing the snot out of it on both the 5D3 and the T4i.
I'm particularly interested in using it on the T4i since I can take advantage of the pixel density of the smaller sensor.
