"Remarkable contrast at larger apertures, high resolution at expense of contrast stopped down, with moderately low to moderate contrast by f/16. Remarkable performance at f/4. One of the sharpest Zuiko lenses."

very nice. how do you find its handling? Ive all the Olympus ~50s save the 1.8; the 2.0 macro is even larger than the 55/1.2 and Ive had issues with tripod plates using OM bodies; is this an issue with the Sony?

I wish I could tell you. I'm too lazy to attach the tripod. However, I find the handling just fine. Not as comfortable as the ZM. 50/2, but I like the Oly enough to walk around with it on all day.

I see, thanks for the info and shots.
out of curiosity are you still hzppy with your ZM 50/2? my OM 50/2 macro is what caused me to move my zm50 to purchase a 50MP lol. I felt like the ZM was a good lens, but the OM is a special lens and the 50MP is a great lens.

I'm pretty happy with the ZM. It's very light and very sharp. I also use the CV 50/1.1, which is heavy, but also sharp when stopped down to 1.4 or so, but, like the Oly 50/2, it is there because of special capabilities.

Here's a few from the OM 28mm f/2 and the cheap Vivitar Series 1 70-210 f/3.5. I've really been enjoying the OM lenses on the A7R, currently I have the 24 f/2.8, 28 f/2, 50 f/1.8 and 135 f/2.8. I have a 21 f/2 on the way.

Great pictures Vern.
Beni - single coated OM G Zuiko 21/3.5 is as sharp as as the MC.More prone to flare with a little less contrast overall, but this is not striking.
G Zuikos 21/3.5 grew rather expensive recently,so you may be better off with cheaper, but good Canon FD 20/2.8,Konica AR 21/4,Rolleinar 21/4,Nikkor 20/4,20/3.5 and comparably priced Nikkor 20/2.8 AIS or Voigtlander 20/3.5.

I also have the Konica 21/4. It is comparatively as sharp as the Olympus, but considerably higher contrast.

Thanks for that list guys! How about corner sharpness and distortion (distortion less of a problem, I can use corrections in ACR)? I'll be using it for commercial work. Also looking for small. The voigtlander looks nice and tiny, I like the fact you can get it in Pentax mount apparently though I can't find it anywhere. The Konica is very expensive from what I can see.

I realize this is probably a stupid question, but... do all of the available OM to NEX adapters work on the full-frame cameras, or is there a risk of vignetting? All of the descriptions for the adapters I've looked at only discuss compatibility with the APS-C NEX cameras.

I am using a Novoflex adapter which is fine on the a7. However, be aware there are sample differences. My first would not focus to infinity but the second does, albeit with no room for error. This is a little surprising as Novoflex generally makes their adapters slightly on the thin side to ensure infinity focusing.

I bought two and they both work great (cheap EBay ones). One of them is extremely tight fitting though. I haven't seen any discussion regarding vignetting on any OM-->Nex adapters on the A7/R yet.

I got about 30 NEX to other mounts adapters,(at least three in each mount),and they are compatible with the A7 with no vignetting/other problems at all.Vast majority are cheap chinese.

I think the MC is rare. Mine is the SC version which is fine. Close sun will need shading though.
I got an MC in the end. Brand new lens in box, very late serial number, 1 year warranty. Cost a packet but I don't think these lenses will be dropping in price any time soon.
Finding a hood is another problem. Do they make the cheap rubber hoods for lenses this wide?
