I really like from time to time to watch all the pictures taken here, great inspiration.
Here's a shot taken with on old Vivitar 70-210 f/3.5 OM mount, taken wide open. This lense is in really bad shape, but the result is still nice, and I don't have money anymore for a better lense. :P
One with the FE55, I tried to use Photoshop for the first time as I have the creative cloud subsciption, it was really long, but the result is nice. Too much work for me, I should take lessons in order to learn how to use the program effectively.
Great shot Werner and Michiel. I miss my CY 100/2. Fantastic lens! You have the Canon FDn 100/2 also? How does it compare to the Planar? I know it's much smaller....

I haven't had the time to look back at he last few pages, but I hope some of you got the chance to see Monday night's aurora! Completely incredible. I've seen brighter and more colorful shows, but I've never seen movement like that, what a show!
Kit lens (which I kind of regret having used so much, but with a baby hanging from my chest, that's really the best I could do) Skarsvåg II by Xavier Barceló, on Flickr

Great stuff! I've been in one of those where you feel as though the wormhole has opened up right above your head, but never captured a photo as nice as yours.

Damn, I think I'm the only Minnesota photographer to miss out on photographing this show. Yours is among some the best I've seen. Once I'm done with this move out to the lakes, I'm going to get my groove back. Congrats on this image!
arduluth, beautiful photo!
Lucky you. I got the alert, but since it never gets dark now I missed it...
xbarcelo, very nice set! Hope you enjoyed your visit in Norway and that the weather wasn't too bad. Lots of rain so far this summer (but most of it when we were in Italy).

The Canon is very good as well and in deed much smaller. Great colors and may be a tiny bit less micro contrast.
I don't use my Canon lenses much these days because I have no adapter at the moment.
BTW Serious side by side testing is not really my trade.

Thanks Werner... In fact, I bought B+W instead Hoya after seeing all your wonderful pictures In my copy, I noticed also a strong color cast (brown)
Michiel, fantastic panorama... very nice composition and colors
Manuel
I bought the B + W ND 10stop and 6stop and don't see so much color cast
there are same but nothing which disturb much .. bought 49mm to RX1R
Sure, I have just test one time yet... than I check the rawimage and it looks quite ok I think

Sorry for repost... maybe the real problem is I don't like so much brown color in general
First one is out of camera (C1 RAW to JPG) and second one with my PP...

I'd mostly attribute this one to luck. I could see the lights converging above me, but they were so frenetic that it took a lot of attempts before I caught them like this. This was my first time seeing a corona, think I got a neck cramp for staring up for so long.

Argh, what a shame! You would have to clear the city pollution, but that's about it. A member of the FB group I help admin posted some photos from Inver Grove Heights that showed the lights well, better than I would have expected from within the South Metro. Still working through my photos, the first time I've ever really wished that I had something *really* wide. Most of my aurora photos lately have been 35mm or 45mm, with 24mm being way too wide. It was hard to fit anything in on Monday night, the lights were just everywhere to the north, east, west, and even south.

I certainly appreciate that it gets dark over here for at least few hours every night - you might get better light shows in your part of the world, but it is nice to be able to watch them year round.
