Last night at the Minnesota Twins baseball game I was able to photograph from the field for the national anthem as part of a non-profit fundraiser. The men from the armed services really added to the national anthem.
A strange and mysterious mist blew in from Adobe CC Lightroom 2015.
I noticed that one of the most commented on features of the new Lightroom release was a new "dehazing" filter. I played with it and thought it would occasionally be a useful and quick solution to cutting through haze. Today I asked the question. "could I use the dehazing filter in reverse to introduce haze as well?" The answer is of course yes. Here is a photo with no haze in the original. A quick gloss of haze - a graduated over exposure filter on the sky and graduated under exposure filter on the water in the foreground and it looks like a hazy day!
A couple of shots with the Minolta 35-70 3.5 Macro. First at 70mm and the second in Macro mode to take a close up of eye make-up. (Used onOne for skin smoothing on the second one. At that close up everyone needs a little smoothing) I'll post another of the same model taken with the 50mm no skin smoothing.
The one we have with us, right? Her's was A5000 with 16-x very compact zoom. I was surprised that there was no touch screen and no EVF outlet, unlike the legendary Nex 5n. What is up with that? I remember when they were saying what pride they hand in the "iconic" Nex-5 build, with it's tiny magnesium body. It's the camera which explains the battery size
Anyway, what I had was both M9 and A7M, and gabbed the latter. I usually shoot the 50 Cron outdoors, so for me these close shots wide open are just...way Mandler I guess
Some killer images the last few pages from everyone!
Finally took the MD 35-70/3.5(2.8) out for a stroll this past weekend....Love this lens!

Manuel: I have no problems with the BW ND 110 and the 16-35. There is some vignetting @16mm but most of the time this does not bother me, depending on the motif i go to 18mm. I think i have posted lot's of pics with that combination.
Michiel, you are getting plenty of mileage from the fabulous CZ P100/2 C/Y. I should start using mine!
Pics from Custer St Fair in Evanston, IL, this weekend. All taken with A7ii and Elmarit-M 28 ASPH. The Elmarit makes a lovely compact street shooter, but the edges are smeared—even at moderate apertures. The cause seems to be field curvature as the edges focus toward infinity. This attribute can be put to use at closer distances but, unlike the Minolta 24mm VFC, can't be turned off. Not a generalist lens until Kolari offers a fix for A7ii.
Field curvature is really evident in this last pic.

Thanks Werner... In fact, I bought B+W instead Hoya after seeing all your wonderful pictures In my copy, I noticed also a strong color cast (brown)
Michiel, fantastic panorama... very nice composition and colors
Manuel
Manuel:
Yes, the brown cast is normal. Though it is easy to remove in LR using white balance, i made a color checker profile for the filter which works good as well. Most of the time the cast is quite pleasant on the warm side and i don't remove it completely. I prefer the BW filters instead of the Lee system with is good but bulky and has a strong blue cast.
Cheers
Werner
PS: Michiel how could you post your beautiful Pano in that big size?
