Just wanted to say I love your Lago di Lugano photos. I'm from Chicago but we've spent the last several summers in the Lugano region (my 'gift' to my kids is to enroll them in the TASIS summer camp).
This latest photo reminds me of the view we had one year from our villa we rented at
Str. Sasso Rosso Dasio, 56, San Mamete, Como, Italy
Although, more recently we've been renting closer to TASIS, near Morcote.
What a beautiful area - do you live there year 'round?
They're not attending camp this year, instead we're taking the month of August to drive through Spain, France, Switzerland and Italy. Typical Chevy Chase shotgun vacation, but we're trying to get a sense of areas we want to spend more time in, having spent a ton of time in the Alps and Lakes over the past few years.
I didn't have my Sony kit last year (was still lugging around Nikon), otherwise, i'd post a few here.
Anyway, just wanted to say that for me, among a thread crowded with amazing photos, i've really appreciated seeing yours, eric.
ps - i could have PM'd - but we're on our way to 1000 pages!

Thank you very much for liking my pic's from the area.
I don't live there permanently (not yet ), we live in Heidelberg, see Michaels pics just above ( i missed his visit to HD staying in Switzerland) , but we own for many years an appartement in Melide right at the lake. Many of my pics are shot right out of the door, the pines, ....
We try to go there as often as possible and we will stay there all time when retirement is due (pretty soon..).
Yes it is very beautiful if you a have a taste of and for the Italian style of living. If you come close , let me know.
I know o.c. the San Mamete and Valsolda area, we go there very often with the boat...
My very best regards
Werner
(That's more of a PM too, but i help to speed up the 1000)
Well...I had to try it! The "Swiss Army Knife" of Sony lenses, the FE 24-240 mm does flowers. These shots are all taken at extreme telephoto 240 mm, wide-open at f/6.3 and still create bokeh. It is definitely not the same as a prime or a macro but it surprised me at how well it did on the A7r Mod. I like the idea of wide open at f:/6.3.
