Do you notice any lag when taking a picture? Is the A7 and the A7R responsive?
In its current iteration, the Sony A7r is not a replacement of a responsive and fast focusing DSLR from both Canon/Nikon to me, not even close. It is more a light-weight body that I use with multi-platform lenses in addition to my 5D Mark III/D800e. However, it does pretty much replace the Leica M9 in my situation although there are certain things I like about the M9 better but I would consider the A7r to be a worthy replacement. YMMV, of course.

I fully agree FE55 is sharp high contrast lens. it keep Zeiss's tradition that it is perceptually sharp lens,(like ZE/F D35f2) but it is also indeed really sharp(high resolution). I have to agree many people here that this lens itself worth keep A7/R system.
In a not single occasion I have mind that will sell my A7 after my forth coming trip to China. But If that is not happen is because of this 55. it is that good. I have some reservation about its Bokeh. but it is better than most even on this.

+1, I also feel next generation might be close. but this one certainly not. A7R even worse compare to A7 IMO. No surprise for comment for M9, if it is not rangefinder, it has no real reason to go with Leica. I mentioned before: we just lose one of biggest reason to go with Leica, small full frame high quality system.
As for me, I love rangefinder experience. It indeed offer me different way of shooting and observing the world. I will keep my M kit small but always available. M9 is lovely camera.
Got my camera yesterday and went out for a few shots, all i have to say is that i love it and the native lenses (35mm and 55mm). This is kind of everything i wanted in a camera, just wish start up time was faster

I've been checking their website every day.....downloaded the pre release yesterday and as usual for me I generally prefer the PN rendering. I will say the PRIME noise reduction in DxO gives it a run for the money for high ISO shots.
