Beautiful crisp northern light Twoeye, and a nice alternative for seeking eggs...
Here two images with the Minolta MC Rokkor 85/1.7 from a recent visit to the local zoo's apehouse. MFD is not the strongest point of this lens (cross-post with Rokkor thread).
(this picture probably at f/2.8 instead of f/1.7 given the hexagon)
Crappy technique, a bit overcooked - but I just like the scene as it was the first real spring day! :-)
Btw as most landscapes in The Netherlands this is a construct. Virtually all streams were straightened. And now we are recreating meanders again. With machines obviously.....
Two more images from the ice caves; the first one was captured close to the temporary entrance we took. The entrance, which is basically a hole where an aluminum ladder was used, is the bright area behind the guide that I asked to pose. The glacier part was thick and less translucent here and yes, this part of the cave was fairly dark. Too bad, the light on his head was not that clearly visible . Well, it shows on the reflection on the water a little bit more.
The second image was taken at the entrance that was closed due to some collapse. I was really upset when I viewed the first 2 images while on the way on the SUV. The first two "wave" images were not critically sharp when magnified. Although I used an ultra wide angle lens and I stopped the aperture down, but somehow I must have nudged the focusing ring for whatever reasons after I focused the first time around. We got to this point at the end of the 45 minutes and it was the most beautiful part of the caves to me. Although we were under time constraints, I made sure that I stabilized the tripod and refocused both times, to make sure I captured that part. Phew!
Three more Cron 90 from yesterday.
Really like the lens, it's small, it has character and it is sharp enough.
Only issue is that i find it a bit stiff to focus compared to my other lenses, not that it's "stuck" just needs more force... Compared to the two voigtlanders i test it's a big difference, they are smooth and easy..
