Charles, how do feel about the size of the FE 35/1.4 vs the Loxia line. Seems like the FE 35/1.4 is much larger . . . how does it handle?
I myself was positively surprised about the handling of the FE 35/1.4, on both my A7II and A7S. It's large, but it doesn't feel heavy. Good balance.
Nice shots Dan.
Charles...very nice first shots with the FE 35 1.4. Something else to look at!!
Dave...that last shot is obviously stopped doen and looks great to me!
Here are a few more OM 50 1.2 pics. This lens really is incredible. It has no problem keeping up with the A7rM, even to the extreme corners. I haven't put it against the ZM Planar, but I bet this lens is just as sharp!! The shit if the tree at 1.2 below(boring subject, sorry!) was shot at 1.2 and the sharpness extends all the way from the too of the frame to the bottom!! Very surprising. My shout out to Joshua for making me buy this 50!
I think f2...a little street photography...
Always interesting/eclectic people to shoot in Santa Cruz! And I'm on vaca this week...not my UPS truck in the background!!

I am using a Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art in combo with LA-EA4 and that setup is definitely heavier and larger. Although I like the images the Sigma generates but this got me thinking..... But my next lens will be the FE 28mm f/2.

Glad to be of service , Gregg and I agree with you that tiny lens is simply incredible. I am hanging on to my beaten up copy of that lens; it is still alive and kicking.
Want to add to the Distagon 35/1.4 FE test series.
Was testing the lens at my local dealer today, after looking at the pics at home i am quite impressed.
I agree to what's already said, though the lens is big, it is not to heavy and handles very well on cam.
I really like the minimal focus distance (much closer than my beloved Leica R 35/1.4) focusing with USM is great too.
Oh boy, the price tag is high 1620 Euros.... i will have nervous easter time.....very tempting...and i have quite a few 35's...
Two test shots out of the store, first for bokeh WO and close focus second for overall sharpness at F 5.6 (minimal, basic processing in LR, no profile ..) 100% via Flickr:
Charles: Congrats on your new FE 35 buy. It does look sharp enough with nice background OOF rendering. Do you notice any mid-zone dip on your lens for infinity shot.
Dan: interesting series with the A7s.
David: despite of being defective, your FE 35/1.4 has lovely draw. The kite picture is nicely rendered with "pop".
A few shots last night with the Biogon G 21 while playing around with the idea of shooting some wide-field astro in heavily light polluted area. Quite windy last night
Sony is back after a long gap. Sold my A7r long time back to fund for some lenses. Now got hold of a A7II. Love the camera and the flexibility of IBIS obviously.
One to show IBIS does work and the other is a shot with canon 85L on the A7II with Metabones IV.
Stormvogel: 135 STF?
Greggf: it´d be interesting battle between Oly 50/1.2 and Mitakon 50/0.95.. what do you think about renderering oof areas /pop when compared these two lenses..I think you own Mitakon too
