Is it wrong to say that those vulture shots are gorgeous? Would the birds be offended? Nice work.
Some initial shots with a7ii...totally in love. Colors are great. Focus assist on MF lenses is a huge boon. Weight, ergonimics (mostly) good. Noise level is phenomenal...accidentally shot at 3200 ISO and had no need to apply noise reduction. Crazy. I am a convert.
Thank you Philip, Picture this, Ronny and for all the likes
I have decided to get the Loxia 50 as it is my favourite FL. I have a number of 50's purely for the different rendering, FE 55/1.8, 50 Nocti f/1.0, 50 Cron DR and 50 Lux Asph. The Loxia 50 is really nice in ease of use, size/weight with the A7 bodies and much gentler with the rendering style.
Received the Loxia 50 this morning and first shot with the A7II.
Revisiting an old subject with a new lens (35 Lux FLE), and one with the CV15/4.5 vI. A7 Kolari filter mod. The CV15 had lots of color cast, and my current profile isn't good enough to get rid of it all with the Adobe FF plugin. But the corners are much better now.
Here's that forklift 3 years ago with the CV35/1.2 on the Nex-7

Charles, with the Loxia 50, you probably won't get much use out of the Noctilux. Feel free to box it up and send it to me.
Two different animals and probably why you can't have too many 50's.
I really think the Loxia's even though they are not often mentioned are great option for those who love MF and ease of use without having to think to much! They are gentler wide open and smoother. I do think with the A7rII about to be released, I do think the Loxia will be excellent here.
Shot yesterday evening with Loxia 35 and A7II
Jim...Welcome to the A7 thread! Great first post, too!
Charles...how do you think the Loxia 35 and 50 will do on the A7rM?? I'm very curious...
Took the ZM Biogon 35 and A7rM out for a spin around the yard today...

Hi Gregg. I have already tried the Loxia 35 on the A7rM with no issues at all, so I would assume that the Loxia 50 will be fine too.

Charles, I already have four 50mm-sih lenses and that after selling a few....but your rendition of the Loxia makes me think about it . I must resist....
We were very lucky to witness a great light show on March 17 while in Iceland. For that we had to drive 1,5 hours one way in the middle of the night to get away from the cloud cover. I have to say that the forecast from the Icelandic Meteorological Department was quite accurate. The cloud cover brought a pretty intense snow storm but when we drove through that the sky was pretty clear, allowing the northern lights to be visible and captured. We came back to the lodging place past 4:00AM the following morning.
This is one of the images from that morning off the road near a farm. I included a light trail from a passing car (or was that a truck?) and its head light lit up the cloud pass the road bend. Due to the intensity of the "solar dust storm", the spectrum of visible colors of the aurora was simply incredible.
