Finally got my Techart DEO Golden Eagle Mk3 autofocus adapter for Contax G (traded in my Mk2 with $150 for upgrade in Oct). Definitely a bit easier and faster autofocus with the A7II vs A7 and Mk 3 vs Mk 2. The lens is very sharp. Going to 3:1 and I can't tell the difference vs other shots at 1:1 view. I had to remount the lens to the adapter (sounded funny first time and autofocus was really slow).
I'll take some macros later. This lens does work as a really decent macro option, as well.
Here are the Contax G 90mm f2.8 macros with a cheap set of Viltrox extension tubes (10mm and 16mm), which have electronic contacts and don't vignette. The autofocus works, but at close to MFD, I prefer manual focus and moving the camera back and forth. These weren't "posed" and are just handheld.
