Now have my metabones so can start using the a7r properly.. Wasnt bought for astro but the 6d was being used for timelaps so .. why not?
Great shot Rob and a place I know well having lived in Christchurch for seven years. What sort of iso, aperture and exposure here, or are you stacking. I hadn't thought of using a 24 ts-e for star shots but have one on order, so will be interested to see how it goes. John
25 seconds iso 6400 f3.5 for this, but it is (some of) 3 rows of 7 frames. cropped in post so probably 2 * 5 with a 30%ish overlap
The TSE is a bit slow at f3.5 for astro but its so good at that aperture it works well, canon s24/1.4L needs 2.8 before its really usable. Samyangs 24/1.4 is better. I normally use my sigma 50 but that isnt working on the sony at the moment.
Wow... amazing shots!! Congratulations to everyone and their contributions
Shots unPP'd from a previous shoot.
One of my favourite combo's
A7s and FE 55. I still think the files from the A7s are really hard to beat for richness, depth and B&W conversions.
Testing out the Pentax M20/4.
Its a really handy lens, being so small at 2.95cm in length (49mm filter thread).
Since I cycle around, the size itself is already a big bonus.
