A few images from Bali - The sun on the first image is real, BTW. The first 3 images were captured using a 24-70mm f/4 lens that "earned" a bad on-line reputation. In my book, however, it is a great lens .
A7II first image with FE16-35/4. Second with Minolta MD 35-70/3.5
I've got to say that I'm watching all of the 16-35 shots that are appearing now, and whilst very nice they just lack that 'pop' of a classic lens for me. They don't seem to have that bit of magic. Maybe it's just me in denial so that I don't have to buy the damn thing (I've just bought a Tamron 17mm so maybe a tad regretful too as that's ⅓ of the budget required for the 16-35)
That said I love these comparisons you are doing between the 16-35 and Minolta MD 35-70/3.5 ... and honestly I really prefer the Rokkor shots so far - unluckily it doesn't offer 16mm though !
Please tell me that you are not hand holding 2 second shutter speeds... I'll promptly just throw away more money in the garage disposal tonight.
No way I could hold 1 image for 2 seconds let alone 10! The lens is even sharp at f/4 but there is some drop off in the corners. Not bad though! I'm really liking this lens and I almost exclusively shoot primes.
GOOD I was hoping the ibis wasn't THAT good lol. Great shots man!
I really like the results everyone is getting from that lens. But for my intended uses with astrophotography I think i'm going to wait and see what the 28mm brings in the first part of 2015.
But i'll be saving my dough till then! so possibly pick up a 16-35 if that doesn't work out!
