GOOD I was hoping the ibis wasn't THAT good lol. Great shots man!
I really like the results everyone is getting from that lens. But for my intended uses with astrophotography I think i'm going to wait and see what the 28mm brings in the first part of 2015.
But i'll be saving my dough till then! so possibly pick up a 16-35 if that doesn't work out!
I would think you would want faster for astrophotography. I've used the Zeiss 21/2.8 and Zeiss 15/2.8. It would be interesting to try out the CV Ultron 21/1.8 for that purpose. Nonetheless, the 16-35 is turning out to be a great lens.
Here's another multi-row panorama but this with the Olympus OM 21/3.5.
28mm F2 should be ok. if it doesn't pan out to be decent then i'll be looking for the 35mm f2.8. but the 16-35 is really inciting... I have to keep my mind and eyes (and wallet) on my priorities!
Sean, that's a wonderful portrait (of your daughter) ? Her smile (which reaches her eyes) and stance is so natural and endearing, the bike looks great and adds an interesting BG feature and the 35 Cron has done a great job to say nothing of your excellent B&W conversion. I'd be printing that large - one for the family scrapbook for sure.
I usually don't really go for panoramas, jhinkey, but yours really works for me!
I abslutely hate you, Philip. I couldn't get a nice shot out of my FE 55, and wasted both photo opportunities and money on it. Yet you make it look so effortless... Well done!

Thanks Kevin! She was the daughter of the cafe owner at Dorrigo NSW Aus. I must say the R 35 cron is now my favourite 35mm and I've had quite a few. Unique and interesting rendering that's not ugly and harsh and quite sharp with great colours. Nice and compact, lovely long smooth focus throw and quality pedigree so it ticks all the important boxes
I hate all you guys posting such wonderful shots with 35s .. because it's not a FL I use that often, and neither are 50s ! Crons, CVs, Zeiss .. driving me nuts !
I saw some beautiful rendering from a Rollei Planar HFT 50/1.4 in shots from someone on here a couple of weeks ago and have found one here for around US$400. So tempting. *sigh*
I usually (not exclusively) seem to be either wide (21-24mm) or tele (100/135/300) and rarely in between. Though I do love the FE 55/1.8 and my Cosina 55/1.2 and try to find situations to use them.
1. The autofocus is quite a bit better. I can now use all the modes with a much better hit rate.
2. The issue with sensor flare is almost completely gone (doesn't ruin shots anymore). Just shot the FE55 f1.8 tonite (which has shown a tendency to create sensor flare at bigger apertures in the past). Rainy and foggy night here, so I was reluctant to change lenses. The worst flare that I could get would be pretty easy to clean up with an adjustment brush (not so easy with the A7).
3. Went out to Koziars Christmas City. I shot mostly at 1/40th of a second to test out the IBIS. I could handhold on stills at 1/10 with no issue. Generally can't get alot of in focus shots when my daughter's running around, but had better success at 1/40th in the dark than at home in better lighting (ISO 200-400 @ 1/200th) with my A7.
Excellent images Werner, Michiel, and Bob. As always!!
Merry Xmas to everyone on the A7 thread. Have a great day and night and enjoy it with family and friends!!
