Thanks. Here is a processed version of the Contarex Planar 50mm shot. Dynamic range is fantastic, very easy to work with in post.
Brian, your most interesting shot for me is with the ZM 35/2 stopped down to f/8, since it is my most used lens on the M9.
Just wondering what you think of it on the A7r? I noticed that image borders are still quite soft even at f/8, but acceptably so, and also a small hint of purple shift.
Well Edward, you summed it up pretty well. Even at f8, the borders are soft, and the corners are distorted (slightly smeared). A hint of purple shift wide open. You can see this in the full size links. This was expected, and can be acceptable for my type of shooting, but for real landscapes, this isn't going to fly.
There are better alternatives, but you'd have to move up in size, unless you get the native 35/2.8, which I think is too slow for its price. Everything is a compromise
I'll post a new sample and 100% crop in the "with rangefinder lenses" thread.

The sun set for the winter a couple of days ago, but my A7r came in today, and I had to take it out into the darkness and snow to do some test shots. Tomorrow there will be rain, but more snow is coming in later this week:

The first sheep shot in that last series, they are staring back like you interrupted their plans for a rebellion. Please be careful.
When i approached all the sheep retreated 3 or 4 only the boss stood his ground and stomped on the ground several times.
I tried the Russian Mir 20M 20mm f/3.5 I used to shoot with that lens a lot in the past with Pentax DSLRs but wasnt that good on the Nex7. But on the A7 it looks better.
Donīt know what is the problem, my image shows up like normal in Safari but not in Chrome, older images of mine links the same way shows up in both browsers.
thanks for all the compliments
The A7 is a great tool and I have fallen in love with my Minoltas again (I hope my GF doesn't read this )
Because the sheep were appreciated so much I have some more for you:
Wow Philip, the sheep photos are just wonderful! I have zero experience/familiarity with Minolta lenses, but the rendering on those images has captured my attention and interest.
I am going to be stuck with the A7R and no adapter for some time for my Canon L lenses (3-4 week delay in getting the voucher from Metabones processed) but am very interested in trying some alt manual lenses. What works well as adapters for the Contax lenses?
I have put in an order for several but remain confused regarding adapters. I put in one order for the Rayqual Contax / Yashica Lens to SONY NEX Camera Body Lens Adapter, however this seems fairly pricey and would make fitting one on each lens prohibitive.
Any comments on the: Fotodiox Contax/Yashica (also know as C/Y) Lens to Sony Alpha Nex E-mount Camera Lens Mount Adapter. This is a much better price but no idea if it fits well nor if it covers the FF E mount rather than the cropped NEX E mount.
