Samuli, today's light was fortunate but otherwise there have been many cloudy days. While I purposefully under exposed by 0.3. In post, I added .55 in exposure and brought down highlights almost as far as it could. I was shooting in program mode with -0.3 in order to see how the camera would meter and handle snow. This way, I can understand the camera lens combination and adjust from there. I would have likely shot this at something like f/5.6-8 normally. Here's the image with those sliders back at Zero.

Thanks Bob - light metering keeps surprising me positively time after time. Maybe I just have to aim -0.33EV for next half year in every shot, and then see do I need to adjust This far almost every shot I have taken (and this example) prove that if set to -0.33EV it agrees extreme well with my understanding of correct exposure.

An afternoon shooting light, around the lighthouse that is...

Shot with the A7r and a mixture of FE35, FE55, Canon 24-105, Canon TSE II 24mm. Either handheld (35 & 55) or on a very lightweight cf travel tripod.

"Have a blessed day" by jrobfoto.com, on Flickr

An interesting thing I notice with the A7r. For street I'll leave it set to shutter priority at 1/500th. Doing the same on the Fuji X-E1, the camera would first select a wide open aperture, then start bumping the ISO upwards to maintain 1/500th. On the A7r it will open to f4, then bump the ISO until it hits the max, then start opening the aperture up further. This is pretty handy for street shooting as it ensures you don't end up with too shallower DoF.

Final observation, I think the A7r is the first camera I've owned which not only has quick enough AF, but intelligent enough AF for me to raise the camera, focus and shoot in one motion without breaking stride, and it nails it almost every single time. I could never do that with the Canon 5DmkII, Olympus E-M5 or Fuji X-E1.

Incredible number of fine shots above

ah! I've been waiting to hear about the new Voigtlander VM-E Close Focus -- and from what I understand so far, you can't adjust where it locks infinity. So with the Hawk's v3 you can adjust the infinity width of the adapter via two screws, and thereby adjust to be focused at infinity when you hit the hard stop on your lens?

And it's "roughly on par" for build as compared to something like the Voigtlander?

Any worries about hanging a heavier lens of it (such as the CV 1.2 in your shot)?

I'm not much of a worrier about that kind of stuff, those lenses have hung off the nex 5 for years. Of course I often lift with the lens in hand.

These four photos were shot with the A7r and the Zeiss Jena 135 mm F/3.5 I really like the feel and rendering of this lens on the A7r.

Great shots! I tried this lens on Sunday, a shooting buddy of mine loaned me hers and I was impressed. I had to order it the following day and it so happened that a big store in NY offered a free overnight shipping.... To make a long story short, mine will be delivered today.... .

A7r + Tamron 24-70 VC (EF-Mount w/Metabones). The pair balances well...if you're accustomed to carrying around a rocket launcher FYI, corners are very sharp on this adapted lens.
