This one is from the Speyer series, taken with the Nikkor 15/3.5 just a few days before the 16-35 arrived.
Although the 15 Nikkor, a quite old lens, is distortion free, very good in the corners the new FE lens at 16 mm is the better one. The Nikkor suffers from CA's in contrasty scenes and flares, both is way better controlled by the 16-35 FE.
First sub-freezing morning here in North Carolina....not prepared for the frozen fingers either. I also forgot a sand bag so the wind gave me some fits as well......at least I'll remember for the rest of the year!
Lovely set Peire! November is unusually warm here as well. Normally we would have been well into winter by now.
banpreso, great series. I especially like #2, 4 and 6.
Frogfish, wow! Well composed and nice mysterious mood.

Great shots on this page: Kevin, Michiel, Peire, James and all others!
"The Holy Trinity Of Sony ??"
Werner: Initially, I thought, I might be the first to post a picture with the lens here after getting mine one day after it became available here. You beat me to it . And you've certainly made far better use of it so far .
The CZ 135 just makes that trinity quite heavy. If only Sony managed to talk CZ into allowing them to turn that good old Sonnar 85 2 into a smallish FE AF lens. That would be a reasonable package. For better or worse, assuming SAR is correct, we'll probably get an f1.4 Planar design that will be considerably bigger.
Peire: Beautiful autumn colors.
Jako: Impressive night shots again. The Lux really sings in your capable hands, despite all the technical shortcomings it may have, in particular when mounted on an a7r.
Helena: The colorful houses provide a great contrast to the grey sky. Nice angles on the boats, too. I'd like some snow in Scandinavia too, because I'll be going there for a few days next month.
Here is another one with the 16-35, stopped down for DOF.
Thank you all so much for the very positive response to the Cormorant Fisherman shot ! For the lovely comments and the 'Likes' - certainly the most I've ever had for a single shot
This positive reinforcement is very much appreciated as like many togs, whenever I see the superb work of others, including scrolling through the many wonderful shots in this thread, I always begin to doubt the value of my own work and it's nice to come up with something other people value to show I'm on the right track - one of the great benefits of contributing to the FM community, thank you !
