Zeiss sent me a Loxia to test last week which I used backstage at the Junko Shimada fashion show.
I will post some of the shots from the show this week but in the meantime, I thought I would post a few casual test shots.
The RAW files were processed in Capture One Pro 8 with minimal PP and the camera was an A7s.
The images may be a bit “lighter” on uncalibrated laptop screens as I did the PP on my Eizo which is calibrated for printing.
Aah, the first Loxia images posted on this thread; thank you! And they look great. Which Loxia is that again? The 50mm?

It's funny because I never thought this would happen. I always shoot Fleet Week and get a lot of interesting shots. I thought this was just another one until it started going crazy everywhere. I'm flattered when people use it with attribution, but I have to say it really annoys me when people chop off my signature, imply it's their own, or photoshop stuff over it and repost it. I've given permission to a number of news folks (ABC World News is running it tonight as it turns out) and I'm fine with that. However, a couple pro friends tend to get annoyed because it does undermine their own efforts to keep photography professional and paying. As an aside, I was standing next to a relatively famous aviation photographer when I took these, and surprisingly he gives away most of his shots to publications. He does, however, get extremely generous press passes and flight access!...Show more →
Yup, I completely agree. As soon as they start to change/remove your copyright on any image, then their intention is unethical to say the least. ABC World News tonight, huh? OK, I will keep my eyes peeled then .
Ronny, with no disregard to all your other work, this image appears to me as one of the best of yours. I realize that it's grossly narrow statement, but somehow this picture really appeals to me. Fabulous!
Wonderful shots on recent pages. It will take me days to catch up. Here are a few shots from Bodie, California, an old mining town, now a ghost town. At one time 10,000 people lived here.
A7r with Leica WATE. this lens is very happy in glaring bright mid-day light. It does take some PP to deal with mild vignetting but the files are great to work with. It is an unbelievable tool for landscape photography.
I just returned from a lengthy trip through Banff NP, Olympic NP, Oregon Coast, Teton and Yellowstone NPs and finally Badlands NP. You can see the little Scamp RV I used in the first pic. I took my A7R and a ZF 2.8/25, CY 1.7/50 and Nikon 2.5/105. I had been shooting mostly FDn lenses but got tired of the flare issues, so recently started acquiring Zeiss glass. Mostshots are with the ZF 2.8/25 or CY 1.7/50. I couldn't be happier with this camera and set of lenses.
