Today arrived on the mail the M-mount adaptor and I was finally able to try out my latest purchase. My first step into the Leica world with the Tele-Elmar 135/4. This is definitely the way I wish to go (M-mount lenses) now that I have seen with my own eyes the difference in size between the F-mount adaptor, OM adaptor and C/Y adaptor and the M-mount adaptor I just received today.
Here are two photos I took just while ago. Nothing special but it is a start. Even though it is a relatively slow tele at only f/4 it does isolate the subject quite nicely as seen on the second photo.
So..interesting story on this photo. I posted it on Facebook, and it kind of went mini-viral in my area (over 3,000 likes so far). Then someone posted it on Reddit without permission, where it has over 2,000,000 views! Then "ABC World News Tonight" wrote to ask if they could use it on their Sunday night national newscast. Then....the stealing started. I've seen it posted with my signature cropped off in several places, and have seen it photoshopped different ways and reposted. One of my pro photographer friends said he deals with this all the time. I can't imagine how frustrating this sort of thing must be for people trying to make a living this way!

No question, it is a great capture! Since you are not making a living out of photography, the question has become more like whether are you flattered or are you pissed that people copy/post/use your image without your permission? Well, the key word here is "without" permission, of course.
Comparing 3 C/Y Distagons lately,I was especially curious about 35/2.8 and 25/2.8 performance on the A7 versus 28/2.8.The 28/2.8 seems to be the best in terms of microcontrast and sharpness across the frame. The 35/2.8 was the next - a bit less of microcontrast and more pronounced sharpness falloff toward picture edges. The 25/2.8 is very similar to the latter. What makes the difference is more visible sharpness drop in peripherical parts of the image.
Smearing was biggest with 25/2.8,followed very closely by 28/2.8.35/2.8 was the best. But well,on the A7 many 50/1.4 lenses show some smearing on wider apertures.Anways - no huge IQ differences in the real life picture taking between the three.

It's funny because I never thought this would happen. I always shoot Fleet Week and get a lot of interesting shots. I thought this was just another one until it started going crazy everywhere. I'm flattered when people use it with attribution, but I have to say it really annoys me when people chop off my signature, imply it's their own, or photoshop stuff over it and repost it. I've given permission to a number of news folks (ABC World News is running it tonight as it turns out) and I'm fine with that. However, a couple pro friends tend to get annoyed because it does undermine their own efforts to keep photography professional and paying. As an aside, I was standing next to a relatively famous aviation photographer when I took these, and surprisingly he gives away most of his shots to publications. He does, however, get extremely generous press passes and flight access!
