Carrying my camera on a short afternoon hike today I saw this interesting tree and framed up this shot quickly as the sun dropped along the horizon.
Thank you very much, Scott!
Well-captured image, Scott! I like the way you create the well-defined sunstar!

And your conclusion?
( I know it's a winner )
I am going to search for Northern Lights this coming late fall. The last time I did that some years ago, I used an adapted Canon ultra wide zoom. For what I bought the Tamron lens for, it will perform just fine. In other words, yes, it is a keeper, for sure.
I took a similar shot as this one with a Viltrox 14mm Air 7 months or so ago and it was not wide enough to cover the entire scene and the additional 2mm coverage here did the trick.

You should share that in the dedicated Tamron 12-20 thread. There are a couple naysayers claiming you don’t need 12mm

Hmm, this Tamron 12-20 does very well in your hands Joshua ( as any lens for years so far )
I have GM 12-24/2.8 from the new and last week acquired GM 16-35/2.8 Mk2,which I previously thought would have been redundant facing what 12-28 GM can do.And now this Tamron.Hmmm...
