We visited my favorite church in Paris a couple weeks ago, St. Merry. This was the first time I've been able to photograph the back of the crucified Christ. I saw it in the viewfinder and thought, "Wow. This is special." Viltrox 85/2.

Whoa...the insect subject recognition is pretty good on the A1 II, but trying to start the focus tracking with background distractions was quite the challenge. Using DMF was the key....trying to learn it on a frenetic carpenter bee was probably a poor choice. Guess I need to stop down a bit as well...

Great shots, Robert! Nice panning at 1/50 of a second!!! I have never shot motor race. Looks like a lot of fun. The Sigma 300-600 seems to be a tremendous lens at a very reasonable price. I would be tempted if Sony didn't restrict the FPS and if it took 1.4X TC.
Your panning shots are some of the best I've seen! Nice!

A few from yesterday.
Thx Douglas!
You should give motorsports a try. Who knows, you might enjoy it! 😊
I’m impressed with the Sigma so far. The versatility of a zoom is really beneficial. I’m looking forward to trying it for airshows
The 400-800mm is just a hair too long for formation shots. I’m hoping 300mm on the Sigma might do the trick. And allow me to use a single lens. And not the dual lens/body setup I normally use
Not sure how easy it would be to take Osprey shots diving like yours with the Sigma. That’s a lot of enertia to start and stop
Great shots by the way! The 300mm + TC is really suited for that particular scenario
