Rainy and foggy pretty much all 3 days while we were in Zhangjiajie. Not to take away from this wonderful place but that condition did put a significant dent in the enjoyment of our trip. Oh, well...
Before the elaborate of long escalator system (yes, escalators) and lifts systems, the only way to get up the mountain was by car. Here is a section called the road of 1,000 curves.
@AGeoJO - it happens Joshua, but hanging clouds are way better than clear sky in that location.
When we visited in 2016, it was raining the day before, which screwed up my nearby shooting as well. This may give you the opportunity to revisit. Just check Douglas Liu's notes from his trip to Zhangjiajie.

From Costa Rica, the Resplendent Quetzal. One of the most beautiful creatures and a national treasure of the country. NOT easy to find and photograph. Sony A1-2, 600mm f4.
CONGRATULATIONS Jeffrey!
What a feat indeed, this bird is the most amazing anything that I’ve ever seen!!!
Is this the bird whose feathers the Mayans prized more than anything else?

Terrific view, Joshua! I don't think I have seen this view. There are still sections of the park I didn't get to explore in my two trips there. I did one of the cable car rides, the super tall elevator ride, which was a waste of time, it was packed like a sardine can, I could only see people's heads. A friend showed me the pictures someone took there recently, beautiful fall foliage with the mountains.

You got some amazing shots of Sichun, Jako. I have never been to to Jiuzhaigou NP. The last time I visited Sichun was 1987, I think. We stopped in Congqin briefly before we boarded the Three Gorges cruise.
Playing with desaturation. A7RII + ZM 85 and Elmarit 28 III. Camera in tripod. Rawtherapee + Color efex. Images taken in the hills near Weingarten, Germany. Stay all well!!!!!!
