Times change fast these days in India, as elsewhere. This motley crew of hard country drivers was replaced by a bunch of middle class bikers at this great little dhaba, last trip. Good reason to retain the hard roads in the big range. (Contax 21/2.8)

Beautiful refection, Graham. I have never been to the Canadian Rockies, it's on my bucket list.

Looks like the 100-400 is in good hands! #1 is my favorite.
Went to Washington DC this morning to visit two locations which I have been to quite a few times. This time was to try out the Viltrox 14. All hand held.
The "Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception" (what a mouthful) is located on the campus of the Catholic University Of America in Washington DC. It is the largest Catholic church building in North America. Its construction started in 1920 and finished in 2017. The architecture is "Byzantine and Romanesque Revival" style.

We have a persimmon tree in our backyard. Last year, for the first time, the crows discovered the persimmons were edible, so they ate every single one of them before they were ready to be picked. This year the crows didn't show up, so we harvested about 300 persimmons, most of which were given to neighbors and friends. The persimmons in your picture looked nice and soft, must be very sweet!
With 300 persimmons, your persimmon tree in the backyard must be very beautiful.
The Golden Gate in a foggy mood. I sometimes ride my bike to the top of Hawk Hill and if the weather is mercurial or interesting that day, I take pictures too. I find the winter "tule" type fog is the most interesting but elusive and difficult to track.

Tso Moriri ('tso' is lake in Tibetan) lies at an elevation of 4500m. The town is Korzok, within easy reach of a 6000m peak (shown here in the shadowed ridge). Rupshu, Ladakh. CY 100/3.5, easy to identify by the pale insipid skies it produces. The lake's color is genuine. It's just a little brackish, being a closed basin now. Lots of birds, etc.

Finally using my A1-2 and 600mm f4 in a great location. Here's a female Redheaded Barbet I saw in Costa Rica recently.
That's a beautiful bird, nicely captured, Jeff.
A few shots of the Library of Congress yesterday morning, testing my new Viltrox 14mm. That's the only lens I brought with me, All were taken hand held, thank God for IBIS.
I have been to Library of Congress quite a few times, to test different new lenses, or to bring out-of-town visitors there. It's not a well known tourist attraction in DC but it has the most beautiful interior of any buildings in DC, IMHO. One would have to travel to Europe to see something like that. 2 and 3 are were taken on the floor of the reading room, a first time for me. I never knew visitors are allowed to walk in the reading room, but you are allowed to be in the reading room for no longer than 5 minutes.

Beautiful shots of a stunning interior, Douglas!
Thank you Ross! I may go back to DC in a few weeks to photograph the Whitehouse Christmas tree and the Capitol Christmas tree with the "special effect" lenses. The Union Station decorated with the Christmas ornaments is another place in DC I want to photograph again at night. I stopped going there at night for a couple years because of safety concern.
Incredible colors in your Utah mountain shots! I got to put it on my bucket list for fall foliage. Maybe next year!
