This one is from the 530 gram Contax 21/2.8 Distagon, a 15/13 design. It had no aspherics but plenty of special glass (close to no expense spared), it was FLE too and had an MFD of 0.25m. Its release date was in 1993. Zeiss had to change the design a little ten years later, to compensate for the loss of these glass formulations in the catalogue. The later ZF series is tougher in contrast, more muscular. But something was lost - a warm organic, and these CY lenses continued with very high resale. Zeiss said it was APO from f4, so I always think of it as my APO 21mm.
Stuck at the house waiting for FedEx to bring my new 100 Macro 😎.....my local red shouldered hawk buddy came by to ease my impatience....better lucky than good. 🤷🏻♂️
Got my Viltrox 14mm about a week ago, took it to the beautiful George Peabody Library (Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University) this morning for a quick spin, all handheld, tripod is not allowed. I shot this library with my CV 12 in the past. I have been to the Library of the Congress, the Boston Public Library, both are very classy, something you can only see in Europe. The Toronto Public Library is architecturally very interesting too.
