Highlight metering mode is a feature I never knew I needed. Yes, you could accomplish the same thing with spot metering but I find this a smidge faster/more convenient.
The fall color here in my area of WV is uninspiring this year as a result of our prolonged drought. Fortunately, I just returned from a fishing trip in southwest Wyoming where the colors, landscape and critters (both wild and domestic) were photo worthy. Here are a few from the trip. Steve

Lovely fall colors images, Steve! I also enjoy your wildlife and horse images.
Twilight last night at Zion NP. This is a single exposure. My copy of the 24-105mm f/4 performed very well wide open, sharp across the frame. I meant to bring the 35/1.4 for this shot but had left it back at camp. There’s some haloing from the sky mask made in Lightroom and I probably would need to move to Photoshop to get a better result.
