Sometimes to talk myself down from buying new gear, I'll use something that I already have that doesn't see much use.

A1, Zeiss ZE 50mm f/1.4 (original planar version). This lens gets pretty glowy wide open near MFD, but has pretty good resolution past 6 feet or so. Makes a fun dual character lens.
