Amazing that you use this MF lens for the puffins!
First installment from yesterday's airshow in Genesio, NY. This is my first time to see planes taking off from and landing on grass "runway", even the B-25 bombers.
All these three cargo planes participated in the Africa and European theaters during WWII. The C-47 in the first and second pictures actually dropped the paratroopers of the 101st Division over Normandy area in the early morning hours of the D-day. I am thankful someone has the $$$$$$$$ and passion to keep these warbirds flying.
Excellent set!
Must have been cool to see them take off grass runways!
I'll admit. This was total luck. I was in the back yard using my Voigtlander 50/1.0 Nokton and while focused on the hummingbird feeder, this guy showed up for a few seconds.

Thank you Robert! First time to see them taking off from/landing on grass air strip. I know the fighter warbirds can but didn't know even the bombers and the transports could too. This show is 330 miles from where I live, so I drove 660 miles on Saturday.
Here is a set of B-25 bombers.

Took these from my back deck as these fly fishermen floated by on the Eagle River while there was this ethereal warm light permeating the entire landscape and reflecting in the water.

Wow! 330 miles each way?! You're very dedicated!
Great set of the B-25's!
Don't think I've seen so many warbirds in a single show. Even many japanese planes from the Pacific theater
