Close-up from a Bald Eagle sequence captured in May, one of my favorites from 2024.
Wishing successful photography adventures for all in the coming year.

Beautiful portrait of such a colorful bird, Joshua!
I have to settle for the little ducks from this morning.
Thank you very much, Doug! But your hooded merganser images are jaw-dropping, buddy!
I know only a single local source where hooded mergansers used to frequent but that one due to the drought in California has become dry... Prior to that the location of the burrowing owls has been developed. Two good wildlife locations in Southern California that I used to visit disappearedin the last 2 years. How sad 😢...
Love the atmosphere, Jako. I think I went to Dali in 1989, right before the Tianman Massacre, don't quite remember. In the same trip I went to Xishuangbanna in Yunan, the guide, a young ethnic girl (don't remember her particular ethnic group) told us that in the 70's when automobiles arrived in some villages, the locals all ran up to the mountains because they had never seen automobiles before so they thought they were some sort of monsters.
I was going over the files from my trip to Hunan Province this past September, here are some that haven't been posted.

From the Cinci zoo a few days ago, about 50% crop on A7RV using a beautiful minty decades-old Nikkor AI-S 105mm f/2.5 manual lens, the build quality and feel in hand is a true pleasure.
