Thanks Mike and you inspired me in the Contax N thread!
Well, I gave my Contax N 24-85 a whirl today on the A7r...it's a Conurus conversion for Canon EOS. On the 5D2, the AF works like a charm. On the A7r, the AF is pretty much useless (I'm using a Commlite adapter, which seems to work very well with Canon EF lenses on the A7r). The AF never locks on...it hits the spot, then continues to hunt. Taking the lens out of AF mode and using MF, the results are as expected. I'm not much of an AF guy, but once in a while it does come in handy. The other oddity is that since the camera detects that it is an AF lens, I'm not able to use the AF/MF button to zoom in for critical manual focusing (unless there's another way to do so?), even when the lens is taken out of AF mode. I do have a non-AF adapter in EOS mount, so it looks like that will have to do for this lens.

That is a pitty Mike.
The latter is in a way no different from using the lens with a Kipon adapter except the info and electronic aperture.
I am not a very technical guy so I wouldn't know how to work around this problem.
May be someone els will. May be in the Contax N thread.
If you really want to change systems you could easely sell your Conurus version and buy another one for the money. (and even an extra lens)
Great captures everyone! Even with the current busy schedule, I'm inspired by you all to get out and shoot.
Helena: Very nice first start with the Northern Lights. Quite envious!
Werner: Great set at the vineyard. Beautiful light capture at the dormitorium.
Gregg: Another great set with the D35. Love the color.
Charles: Great 1st set of the stars. I would suggest you to overexpose a bit with the A7s by about 1.5 to 2 EV, and pull back. You get more stars and better definition for the Milky Way cloud.
Dale: Great set and you found a treasure there. I would imagine that a sunset shot should be in order.
Despite my hectic schedule, I took a day off to catch the sunrise at the Magdalena Ridge and later got to the annual Pie Festival.
I took a few students on the trip. We were surprised by the temperature inversion.

Later on, we arrived just on time for the Pie Eating Contest.
Wow, Ebookman and hiepphotog!!! Amazing photos. I must say that the WATE looks better and better everyday, but the price is scary, to say the least!! hiepphotog, I love your dawn image!
I, too, like the pano setting Heavenhated... worked really well in Hawaii!
Great urban shots...Love the PP work, Bob!
Went to the Santa Cruz Co fair today and brought the CV 50 1.5 with.

Definitely some CA in the blown highlights of my wife pic, but the more I tried darkening the highlights with the adjustment brush, the more CA popped out. I liked the pic, and did my best to rescue it.
