Note the wood "splint" on the oar in the last photo above. The oar broke as the raft was pushed over the falls in the first shot and this was many, many miles before the take out. Steve
I gave away a CV 58/1.4 lens to a friend due to it being unable to do justice to this scene. This one was shot on the CV 50/3.5 Heliar, a lens notable for dealing with just about any light. Still, it has the distinction of taking longer in post than many hundreds of my images.
Experimenting with flash since the light is so bad when the hummers show up. I know nothing about flash , so I probably broke every rule there is . I tried every option on the flash from TTL, Slow Sync, Multi, Rear Sync to try and figure out which worked the best. I still don't know
