Thanks Jim! No, this is from the Sigma 24-35mm f/2 DG HSM.... I'm kind of a sucker for strange or oddball lenses, and when I see them closed out for a low price, I can resist picking them up. I paid $5xx for the Sigma 28/1.4 and this 24-35/2 was $499.

I haven't compared them yet, but I'm sure the 28/1.4 will come out on top at wider apertures.

Nice series, Tim! Thanks for posting.

Was the last photo in the first series from the Sigma 28 Art?

That's a striking shot, even though I am no fan of bats . What a capture!

Not much to shoot locally, except more ducks.

Thank you, Doug! That's my first time actually. Although I don't necessarily like bats, but I shoot everything and anything...

The hooded mergansers in your neck of the wood are big eaters, huh? You captured their behavior well!

Acorn Woodpecker...
This is not rotated or anything! Pretty cool how the woodpecker kept his balance on one foot hanging at almost 45 degrees upside down

Another amazing capture of bats, Joshua!

More hooded mergansers from this morning. I went to shoot short eared owls this afternoon, didn't see any, only saw a few northern harriers. I have never seen short eared owls in person.

The spring water and the Juniper fronds are sacred. Tibetans pay their respects by feeding giant 'bsang' burners with the Juniper, which produces an acrid choking smoke. The tradition is dying out a little, leading to much better lung health. I try to be upwind whenever possible. #3 fire tenders and firefighters need to be deployed, the burners explode every so often. (CY 35-70).

Pretty typical mixed crowd walking the inner kora in Lhasa. Walking is part of the Tibetan religions (Buddhism and Bon). 'Koras' are circumambulations around a holy site. Best undertaken in a kind of trance, a state of mind amplified by the group of participants. Koras range from 20 metres inside temples to multi-day efforts like the 110 km trek around Lake Manasarovar in West Tibet. They keep fit doing this, and it build social cohesion as well. (CY 35-70).

Just received the new-to-me A7CR today, took it out with the CV 35 f1.2 for the dog walk in late afternoon. I am not sure what small lens I would use on a casual basis. The tiny CV 15 is too wide, the Sony 16-35 F4 G is pretty light but kind of bulky for the A7CR for casual walks. The tiny Sony 28-60 may work. I may get a Sigma 35 f2.

Standard zooms that I tend to use on A7C/A7CR: Sony 28-60/4-5.6,Sigma 28-70/2.8,Sony G 20-70/4

My selection of small AF primes for A7C/A7CR: Sigma 17/4+Sony G 24/2.8+Zeiss ZA 35/2.8 (or Sigma 35/2)+Sony G 50/2.5 (or Zeiss ZA 55/1.8)+Sigma 90/2.8
