When shooting wildlife/bird, I bring a tripod and while moving around, I extend only 1 leg for better mobility. When I spot a bird, I take a few insurance shots first while using the tripod as a monopod. If the bird doesn’t fly away by then, I extend all 3 legs of my tripod in slow motion. And I gradually reduce the shutter speed a bit at a time to get a decent ISO setting and yet still freezes any slight movement of the bird. That particular shot is from the last phase.

DC. Right as I took these photos, the city was getting its first snow in over 2 years (according to my friend who lives there). Us fair weather Californians weren't doing so well.

Amazing at 1/30 second! Doesn't matter how you cut it. Not something I dare to try, unless I am shooting a status, on tripod..
Sunrise yesterday from the same place after the second snow storm in a week. There are very few open places suitable for sunrise/sunset within 15 minutes drive from where I live. Most of the farms have been sold for housing development. So please forgive me for posting sunrise shots from the same location multiple times. I love red barn in snow.

We took a quick daytrip up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon from Sedona to see the views. I'd love to have some more time to spend here to find better light, but I made the best of it. Always a stunning place.

You are seeing a lot patients and therefore you are getting exponentially exposed to that indeed nasty Covid. I contracted Covid on my last Equador trip in 2022 and ended up getting quarantined in a hotel in Quito for 10 days before I could fly back home. I just came back from Costa Rica a week ago and I came down with pneumonia. I am slowly but surely gathering my strength back as I will go on another trip in 2 weeks...
