Thank you Olaf. What you do is put the flowers in a dish, fill with with about .25 inches to .50 inches (.635 cm. to 1.27cm). Put in the freezer and let that freeze for at least 2 hours. Then, add more water, let it freeze , then add more water to the depth you want and let it freeze.
The bubbles and lines you see are the oxygen escaping from the flower. Tap water can sometimes be a bit cloudy so, you can use distilled water. You can also try carbonated water for more bubbles.
Ambiguity of scale can help express different ideas in an image. It can help engage the viewer's imagination.
On the Nepal side of Mount Everest, there is the treacherous Khumbu icefall which is a section of the Khumbu Glacier that is constantly moving. Everest climbers must navigate it to summit Everest. Crevasses here can be as deep as 150 feet (45m)!
Went to Arlington National Cemetery shortly after sunrise this morning to get some shots before the Christmas wreaths are removed on Jan 20. The cemetery is even more solemn after snow.

Thank you Birdie! I have photographed Arlington Cemetery many times, it really has a different feel to it when it's covered by snow. Love your frozen flowers shots! I tried that but failed miserably. I just put flowers in a container, filled it with water and left it outside in freezing temperature. Apparently it's a lot more complicated than that.
We had a beautiful winter sunrise this morning, I rushed to my favorite barn to get some shots. I love red barn in snow. More snow coming tomorrow, need to find some new subjects.
