Went to Washington DC this morning at sunrise to shoot the bufflehead in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, saw this plane that just took off from Reagan National approaching the moon, swung my camera around to snap a couple shots, the ISO was set at 100 in error, the shots were massively under exposed. Thank God for Topaz Denoise I was able to salvage the shot.
Happy New Year my FM friends, may good health and good light be with you in 2024

You went for the bufflehead and not only you got excellent captures of them but you also got exquisite other images. The plane shot whether it is underexposed or not, is awesome! Happy New Year to you and yours, Doug!
Here are the two subsequent images of the sylph taking off posted in the previous page. I had the camera set at 30fps but I only got 3 frames. The 4th one was out of the frame and I did pan to follow its flight. That guy put the “accelerator” all the way down from the very start…

Thank you Joshua! sooner or later your marvelous images from Central/South America will break me down. I am sick of seeing only one tryp of hummingbird here.

Thank you Ross! That 50 GM is magical in your hand!
Went to shoot the last sunrise of 2023 this morning, wasn't disappointed. Someone pointed out in American way of writing dates, today is 123123.

Yep, if that's all you have on the camera. The A7R5 is quite a camera. Of course these aren't anything special since they were taken at 23mm, but dang, it's POSSIBLE.

Some New Year's bubbles. Not by Champagne, but by Meyer Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 100/2.8 New Mk2.Happy New Year to all of you!
Very nice, Peire.
I received the new Trioplan 50mm F2.8 II yesterday, didn't find any subjects with bright background distant enough to create the typical Trioplan lens look, so I put everything out of focus to create the "bubbles".
Also went out to see the first sunrise of 2024, hoping for a nice one but it was pretty muted due to the think clouds.
Happy New Year everyone!

Thank you Douglas.Producing bubbles by defocusing is also a nice and picturesque technique.
I really enjoyed using my new walk-around kit during a visit to family in Durham NC over the holidays. The A7CR and the tiny Sony Zeiss 35 2.8 are a super compact/lightweight and yet powerful combo. DXO Deep Prime XD does a wonderful job of dealing with high ISO's. At full resolution, the rivets and mortar joints are clear @ ISO 12800. Happy New Year everyone! Steve
